Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for part – time Pool Monitors to join the team at The Kensington at Halfmoon, one of United Group's professionally managed multi – family apartment communities located in Clifton Park, NY. To learn more information about our property, visit The Kensington at Halfmoon. 

Opening + Closing 

  • Opens the pool each shift and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours
  • Ensures both pool gates are unlocked at beginning of shift/locked at end of shift
  • Ensures all umbrellas are either put up/down at beginning/end of shift
  • Ensures all pool furniture is staged/placed neatly at the beginning/during/end of shift

Cleanliness + Maintenance 

  • Ensures the pool area, poolside patio, and outdoor bathroom are clean of all garbage/debris during your shift and at the end of your shift
  • Ensures the pool stays clean at all times of debris, dirt, and trash – vacuum and skim as necessary

Safety + Monitoring 

  • Monitors pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues
  • Directs swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
  • Monitors weather reports closely to ensure the safety of guests

Rule Enforcement + Guest Management 

  • Ensures all residents and guests comply with Property pool rules and regulations (form signed at move-in)
  • Check/sign-in and out ALL residents and guests

Physical Expectations + Work Environment 

  • Must be able to stand/walk/swim for up to 8 - 10 hours.
  • Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull. 
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
  • Frequently may be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects. 
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.

Job Overview + Requirements

  • Job Type: Pool Monitor; Non – Exempt - $16.00 per hour. 
  • Work Hours: Part Time; Sunday – Saturday Pool Hours 9:00am – 8:00pm. Flexibility due to pool hour of operations and candidates’ preferences. 
  • Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, swimming, walking, monitoring. 
  • Required Education: High School Diploma; applicable Work History.
  • Required Experience: 1+ years’ experience as a lifeguard or pool monitor. Basic understanding of pool safety. Ability to swim at a moderate level. 
  • Certifications: CPR certification. 
  • Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level; Exceptional communication skills; Ability to solve problems involving residents and challenging situations
